Dr. Mark McCann is a Senior Research Fellow at the MRC/CSO Social & Public Health Sciences Unit, University of Glasgow School of Health and Wellbeing. He leads the Peer Networks workstream and specializes in network analysis, systems science, and adolescent health research.
Research Focus: His work examines relationships and adolescent health, substance use patterns, social connections across the lifespan, and complex systems approaches to public health challenges. Current projects include SOCITS (adolescent mental health) and Net4health (social relationship changes).
Methodologies: Dr. McCann employs social network analysis, statistical modeling, complex systems mapping, and co-production approaches. He actively supervises PhD students investigating network influences on health behaviors.
