Mark Johlke is a Professor of Marketing at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), affiliated with the Alvarez College of Business. Previously, he held roles at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and Bradley University, where he developed and managed the Professional Sales Program. His career spans academic teaching, business ownership, and sales management experience across multiple industries. He holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from Texas Tech University, alongside an MBA and B.S. in Psychology and Business from the same institution and Sam Houston State University, respectively.
Dr. Johlke’s research focuses on sales management, organizational behavior, and customer-centric strategies. His work explores salesperson mindset, customer orientation in B2B contexts, retail job characteristics, and the impact of organizational support on employee performance. He has published extensively in journals like Journal of Managerial Issues, Journal of Services Marketing, and Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services.
His teaching includes advanced sales management, professional selling, and sales presentations. His academic career reflects a blend of practical industry experience and rigorous academic inquiry, particularly in bridging sales theory and real-world application.
