Mark Hirschkorn is Professor of Teacher/Science Education at UNB's Faculty of Education. His research examines teacher education program design, international comparative education, and science pedagogy. He developed UNB's International Baccalaureate Educator Certificate program and holds extensive service roles including former presidency of the Canadian Association for Teacher Education (CATE) and UNB's B.Ed Committee chair.
Hirschkorn teaches across undergraduate and graduate programs, including science methods courses, international education studies, and teacher preparation seminars. His scholarship investigates how program structures influence teacher development and international teaching transitions. Recent publications analyze study abroad programs, admissions processes, and global teacher mobility patterns.
