Mario Rios Perez is an Assistant Professor affiliated with the School of Education and Women's and Gender Studies at Syracuse University. He holds a Ph.D. in History of American Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2012) and a B.A. in History and Chicana/o Studies from UCLA (2000). His research focuses on the intersection of education, race, and transnational dynamics in Mexican-American communities, with particular attention to historical inequities in schooling systems.
His scholarly works include a forthcoming book *Subjects of Resistance: Education, Race, and Transnational Life in Mexican Chicago, 1910-1940* (Rutgers UP) and peer-reviewed articles in *History of Education Quarterly* and *Historical Studies in Education*. He has presented at major conferences such as the History of Education Society Annual Meeting and the Latino/a/x Studies Association Conference.
Active in academic service, Perez serves on the Board of Directors for the History of Education Society and reviews for journals like *Latino Studies* and *American Educational History Journal*. His teaching spans courses on educational history, migration studies, and equity in education systems.
