Dr. Luis H. Moreno is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Ethnic Studies at Bowling Green State University’s School of Cultural & Critical Studies. He earned his Ph.D. in Chicano/Latino Studies from Michigan State University and is among the first globally to hold this degree. His work focuses on labor, migration, and activism in Chicano/Latino communities.

Dr. Moreno’s research explores intersections of labor history, migration patterns, and social justice movements, particularly in Ventura County and the Midwest. His recent projects include a manuscript on Oxnard, California’s Chicano activism and articles analyzing Mexican narratives in Ohio and UFW grape boycotts.
He has taught courses such as Introduction to Latina/o Studies, History of Mexican Americans, and Mexican Transborder Culture. His publications span journals like Journal of American Ethnic History and encyclopedic entries on pivotal Latino historical events.
