Janett Barragán Miranda is an Assistant Professor of Latina/Latino Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She specializes in the Mexican-origin community's struggle for food justice in the 1960s, focusing on federal food assistance programs and their role in racialization. Her research employs archival work and oral histories, with a forthcoming methodologies paper in the Latino Studies Journal.

Research Interests: Her work bridges historical analysis and social justice, examining how food policies intersect with race, class, and immigration. Recent projects include Hungry for Equality, a book manuscript analyzing food justice movements in the U.S. Southwest. She also contributes to methodological discussions in Latino Studies through archival and oral history practices.
