Mario Medvedovic is Professor and Director of the Center for Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Services at the University of Cincinnati. His research develops computational methods for omics data analysis, with applications in pharmacogenomics and toxicogenomics.
Key contributions include bioinformatics pipelines for RNA-seq and scRNA-seq data, the iLINCS platform for signature analysis, and methods leveraging perturbation data to identify disease drivers. As MPI of the BD2K-LINCS Data Center, he oversees integration of multi-omics perturbation response signatures. His group created web tools including GRcalculator for dose-response analysis and GREIN for GEO RNA-seq reanalysis.
Research applications span cancer genomics, environmental health (nanomaterials, BPA, dioxins), HIV pathogenesis, and transplant immunology. Active projects investigate fentanyl's impact on HIV replication, GABA receptor targeting in cancer, and epigenetic effects of environmental toxins.
