Jan Bending is a Field Service Associate Professor in the Sociology Department at the University of Cincinnati, where she has held this position since 2011. She previously served as a Field Service Assistant Professor (2004-2010), Adjunct Professor (2001-2004), and held part-time adjunct roles. Her academic focus includes teaching undergraduate courses like INTRO TO SOCIOLOGY and SUBST ABUSE AM SOC. She also serves as Director of Undergraduate Studies.

Her career includes managing Employee Assistance Programs at Cincinnati Bell (1990-2001) and rehabilitation consulting for TRIAD (1989-1990).
