Dr. Marina Iskhakova is a Senior Lecturer and RSE Program Manager at the Research School of Economics (College of Business and Economics) at the Australian National University (ANU). She joined ANU in 2016 after roles as a Program Coordinator at Curtin University and Founder/Director of Orange Cultures, a cross-cultural consultancy. Her academic background includes a Master's in Mathematical Economics (St. Petersburg State University), a PhD in HRM (St. Petersburg), and an MBA in Strategic Leadership (Norwegian School of Business). She has lived and worked in Russia, Norway, China, the U.S., the UK, and Australia.
Her research focuses on Cultural Intelligence (CQ), international experience, and short-term study abroad programs. She has been awarded ANU CBE Teaching Excellence (2018) and the ANU Vice-Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Education (2019). Her courses include Managerial Economics and Global Business Immersion programs in Russia and Dubai.
Recent research explores cultural stigma among academics displaced by war, the efficacy of sanctions on international trade, and future trends in sports like orienteering. Her work emphasizes practical applications for global education and cross-cultural management.
