Marianna Koukou is a Lecturer in Operations and Innovation at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow. Her research focuses on open innovation, end-user involvement, and value co-creation, with additional interests in social, sustainable, and digital innovation. She holds an associate fellowship from the Higher Education Academy and contributes to teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including courses on creativity and innovation management.
Her work explores the impact of end-user collaboration in new product development, leveraging case studies and empirical investigations. She has co-authored publications on simulation games for educational purposes and organizational compassion during crises. Marianna has supervised research on open innovation practices in SMEs and secured a £55,000 grant for an entrepreneurial education project in Malaysia.
Awarded as an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, she emphasizes innovative teaching methods and student success strategies. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges academic research with practical industry challenges, particularly in supply chain traceability and regional innovation ecosystems.
