Maria Wallnöfer holds the academic rank of Professor, currently serving in Executive Education roles focusing on Digital Business & Entrepreneurship. She leads the Executive Masterprogramm Digital Business & Entrepreneurship and teaches Marketing, Strategic Management, and Research Methods across Engineering and Business disciplines. Her professional roles include leadership in AACSB/PRME initiatives and admissions committees within Executive Education structures.
Her education includes a Dr. ETH from ETH Zürich (2012) and dual Mag. degrees in Economic Pedagogy and International Economics from Leopold-Franzens-Universität Innsbruck (2006/2004). She has extensive industry experience, including strategic planning roles at Swarovski and McKinsey venture competitions.
Maria's research focuses on business models, strategic management, and digital innovation. Her work bridges entrepreneurial marketing with strategic decision-making frameworks, emphasizing innovation ecosystems and leadership behaviors in new ventures. Recent contributions explore digital business models and ambidexterity in micro-firms.
She has supervised over 20 student theses across Bachelor's and Master's levels, addressing topics like digital transformation in energy sectors, social media employer branding, and AI-driven business continuity strategies. Active in academic governance, she serves on the board of the Eduard-Wallnöfer-Stiftung der Tiroler Industry and contributes to international conferences such as the Academy of Management and DRUID.
