Marek Perlinski is a Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Social Work, Umeå University. His research focuses on organizational structures in social services, welfare technology in elder care, and professional practices in public sectors. He has conducted extensive studies on social work methodologies, specializing in the tensions between specialization and integration in public service delivery.
Key research areas include analyzing job advertisement requirements for school counselors, evaluating the impact of welfare technology on elderly care autonomy, and comparing Nordic and European social work practices. He has contributed to understanding client-centered approaches in Swedish social services and explored historical shifts in social work organization from 1988 to 2008.
Perlinski is affiliated with the N-CORP research group (Network for Comparative Research on Professions) and led a major research project (2005–2010) examining the effects of organizational structures on social service interventions and outcomes. His work bridges policy analysis, organizational behavior, and applied social work methods.
Publications span journals like Journal of Social Work and Socialvetenskaplig tidskrift, addressing topics such as social sustainability in Finland, challenges in municipal community work, and professional development trajectories in post-communist Poland.
