- Currently leads research projects on national healthcare agreements (2021–2024) and marketized elderly care (2019–2023)
- Key researcher in municipal cooperation with civil society organizations (2017–2022)
His research on the Politics of Aging examines how pensioners' organizations influence welfare policy debates, while his work on Central-Local Government Relations analyzes constitutional developments and negotiated agreements in healthcare. Marketization studies focus on the tension between privatization trends and public service principles in Sweden's welfare system.
Recent publications highlight trends in national healthcare agreements, marketized elderly care models, and the erosion of local self-government. He collaborates frequently with Jessika Wide on comparative analyses of welfare reforms across Scandinavia.
Feltenius serves as program manager for the bachelor program in public administration at Umeå University and contributes to third-stream activities through media commentary and external lecturing on topics like municipal autonomy and civil society dynamics.
