Marek Naczyk is an Associate Professor in Comparative Social Policy at the University of Oxford's Department of Social Policy and Intervention, and an Official Fellow of Kellogg College. His research focuses on the intersection of social policy, comparative political economy, and international political economy, with emphasis on pension reform, corporate governance, and economic development in both OECD countries and emerging economies.
Education: DPhil in Politics from the University of Oxford (2013) and graduate studies at Sciences Po Paris. He also serves as a research associate at Sciences Po's Centre d'etudes europeennes.
Research Interests include the financialization of welfare systems, the role of financial industries in pension privatization, and the impact of global financial crises on policy reversals in Central/Eastern Europe. His work examines how pension reforms influence corporate governance dynamics and labor market structures, particularly through the 'welfare-finance nexus.'
Notable Projects: Analysis of economic patriotism in post-communist states, transnational politics of pension privatization, and the dualization of social protection systems. Current supervision includes DPhil students Paloma Diaz Topete and Steffen Redeker.
Affiliations: Kellogg College Governing Body Secretary, member of Oxford Institute of Social Policy, and active contributor to policy research networks like SASE (2014 presentations).
