Marco Dani is an Associate Professor of Comparative Public Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Trento, a position he has held since 2016. He holds a PhD in “Fundamental freedoms in comparative and community constitutional and administrative law” from the University of Trento (2003) and a Law degree with a transnational focus (1999). His academic career includes roles as a Marie Curie Intra-European Fellow at the London School of Economics (2009-2014) and an Emile Noël Fellow at NYU School of Law (2004-2005).
His research focuses on the constitutional implications of European integration, the role of constitutional justice in legitimizing political power, and the interplay between European Union law and national legal systems. Key themes include the transformation of the social state, supranational executive dynamics, and post-political governance challenges.
He has presented over 30 academic papers at international conferences, including at the University of Copenhagen, University of Hong Kong, and Humboldt University Berlin. His publications explore topics such as judicial dialogue in EU litigation, legal pluralism, and the evolving nature of European constitutionalism. Dani is a member of the Associazione Diritto Pubblico Comparato ed Europeo and the International Society of Public Law.
His teaching and research emphasize interdisciplinary approaches to public law, integrating constitutional theory with EU legal frameworks. He has organized conferences and seminars addressing contemporary issues like the EU’s economic governance and the role of constitutional courts in transnational contexts.
