Marcia Stoll is a Lecturer in the Department of Health, Sport and Wellbeing at Abertay University, part of the School of Applied Sciences. She holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Dundee, an MSc in Health Psychology from the University of Stirling, and an MSc in Counselling from Abertay University. Her research focuses on youth and childhood therapy, multicultural counselling, school-based mental health systems, and holistic therapeutic approaches. She actively collaborates with institutions like the Scottish Government and St Andrews University in her research endeavors.
Teaching responsibilities include leading three undergraduate modules on the Psychology and Counselling course, supervising two fourth-year dissertation students, and contributing to the Counselling MSc program. Her pedagogical work emphasizes creative therapies, cultural perspectives in counselling, and professional development practices. Current research projects include investigating school-based counselling in Scotland, mental health nurse experiences, and multicultural counselling education across the UK.
Marcia also serves as a practising counsellor with Insight and St Andrews University, integrating clinical experience with academic research. Her work bridges educational systems and mental health care, addressing gaps in youth support and culturally responsive therapy practices.
