Marcello Salvatore LENUCCI

Marcello Salvatore LENUCCI is a Full Professor in the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences and Technologies at the University of Salento. He holds academic positions in Botany and Agro-Food Biotechnology, specializing in plant biotechnology and metabolic engineering. His research focuses on improving plant-derived food products through genetic and biochemical modifications, including biofortification and starch/carotenoid biosynthesis. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in General Botany and Agro-Food Biotechnology, emphasizing practical applications of biotechnological methods in agriculture and health.
