Marcella Montagnese is a Junior Research Fellow in Biological and Medical Sciences at Christ’s College, Cambridge, and a Research Associate in Neuroinformatics within the Department of Psychology. She is also an affiliate of the Department of Clinical Neurosciences. Her work bridges computational methods, clinical neuroscience, and mental health research.
Research Focus: Dr. Montagnese investigates dementia prediction using AI-driven tools, neuropsychiatric symptoms in neurodegenerative disorders, and metacognition in psychosis. She employs machine learning, neuroimaging, and behavioral neuroscience approaches to address clinical challenges such as early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and understanding hallucination mechanisms.
Collaborations: She collaborates with Prof. Zoe Kourtzi (Department of Psychology) and Dr. Richard Bethlehem (Research Associate), focusing on interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of neuroinformatics and clinical practice. Her research emphasizes translating computational models into actionable clinical insights.
Labs & Teams: Affiliated with neuroinformatics and clinical neuroscience groups, her work contributes to advancing technologies for early disease detection and improving mental healthcare strategies.
