Frank Larøi is a Professor at the University of Oslo’s Department of Psychology, specializing in clinical psychology and neuropsychology. His research focuses on psychosis, hallucinations, and delusions, employing diverse methodologies. He teaches courses in clinical psychology, including assessment of psychiatric disorders and cognitive neuropsychology. Key research interests include understanding the mechanisms of hallucinations in Alzheimer’s disease, schizophrenia recovery trajectories, and the application of immersive technologies to study mental health phenomena.
Dr. Larøi’s work spans clinical, experimental, and longitudinal studies, with a focus on improving early psychosis intervention and evaluating cognitive functioning in at-risk populations. His recent articles highlight investigations into self-efficacy in first-episode schizophrenia patients, cross-national psychosis symptomatology, and the relationship between hallucinations and memory deficits in Alzheimer’s patients. He is affiliated with the Research Unit of Neuropsychopathology (RUN) and collaborates on projects exploring maternal infections and obstetric complications in schizophrenia pathogenesis.
