James Hall

James Hall is a Professor at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, University of North Texas Health Science Center, holding joint roles in the Department of Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and the Institute for Translational Research. His research focuses on Alzheimer’s disease biomarkers, cognitive decline in Mexican-American populations, and neuropsychiatric symptoms of dementia. He has published extensively in neuroscience and geriatric medicine, with over 142 peer-reviewed articles and an h-index of 33.

Education: BA in History (University of Iowa), PhD in Clinical Psychology (University of Nevada, Reno).

Research Interests: Alzheimer’s disease biomarkers, health disparities in aging populations, neuropsychiatric symptoms of dementia, and cognitive assessment methodologies. His work emphasizes early diagnosis and interventions to mitigate caregiver burden and nursing home placements.

Grants & Projects: Principal investigator or co-investigator on 27 sponsored projects, including the Health & Aging Brain Study (NIA-funded) and the Alzheimer's Biomarker Consortium-Down Syndrome (University of Pittsburgh).

Labs/Teams: Collaborates with Dr. Scott O'Bryant and multidisciplinary teams on biomarker development and clinical trials targeting neurodegenerative diseases.
