Marcela Perrone-Bertolotti is an Associate Professor at Grenoble Alpes University, conducting research at the Psychology and NeuroCognition Lab (LPNC). Since 2018, she has been a junior member of the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF), focusing on interdisciplinary research at the intersection of language processing, motor systems, and cognitive neuroscience.
- Current research: Interactions between language comprehension and motor systems
- Key methods: fMRI, iEEG, TMS, eye-tracking
- Major projects: UNDERSTAND (language assessment protocols), IMAGING (motor imagery and language synergy)
Her work explores how motor-action systems, executive functions, and mentalizing networks interact with canonical language networks, aiming to develop innovative neurorehabilitation programs. She collaborates with clinicians, speech therapists, and international researchers across France, Switzerland, and Canada.
Scientific Contributions:
- Developed computerized assessment tools for language disorders
- Investigated motor imagery's role in language processing
- Created new perspectives for motor-language rehabilitation
Her research has been funded by the IUF, ANR, and SFR Health and Society grants, with publications in PLOS ONE and Frontiers in Human Neuroscience.
