Richard Palluel-Germain is a permanent Lecturer-Researcher at Grenoble Alpes University, affiliated with the Psychology department and Laboratoire de Psychologie et NeuroCognition (LPNC). He serves as Co-Coordinator of the Research Master's in Psychology since 2017 and holds elected positions on the SHS scientific council (2019–present) and UFR council (2018–present).
His research investigates the role of action in perception, motor cognition in social contexts, and motor control, with specific focus on how physical/social constraints influence spatial perception, visual field plasticity in deafness/sign language, and sensorimotor-emotional interactions in purchasing behavior. This work bridges cognitive psychology, neuroscience, and social cognition through experimental approaches in motor control and perception.
Dr. Palluel-Germain has supervised multiple doctoral candidates including Candice François (2017–2020), Chloé Stoll (2014–2017), and Nicolas Morgado (2011–2014), with current supervision of Thomas Chazelle (Ministry Research Grant-funded) and Mariam Baryam (MENRT fellowship). His administrative contributions include membership on the Ministry's Commission for Validation of Foreign Psychology Diplomas since 2016.
Teaching since 2006 at Pierre Mendès France University (now part of Grenoble Alpes University), he delivers courses in Statistics, Adult Cognition, and Motor Control, building on earlier temporary lecturing roles (2000–2005) covering human movement science, experimental psychology, and developmental psychology. His lab work within LPNC emphasizes interdisciplinary sensorimotor research with applications to real-world behavioral contexts.
