Marc Tasman is a Teaching Professor and DAC Director in the Digital Arts & Culture department at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He holds an MFA from The Ohio State University and a BFA from the University of Louisville. His research focuses on photography’s role in identity, digital culture, and internet phenomena, with notable projects like the decade-long Polaroid self-portrait series Ten Years and One Day. Tasman’s work bridges artistic practice with critical theory, appearing in venues such as the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art and the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art.
Key exhibitions include solo shows at Tenth Street Gallery (2015) and Back House Gallery (2014), alongside curated presentations like TEDxUWMilwaukee (2015). His collaboration on Sporting Goods earned a 2015 People’s Choice Merit Award. Tasman’s media contributions include Op-Docs for The New York Times and analysis pieces for The Huffington Post.
His teaching spans courses on internet culture, photojournalism, and media graphics. Scholarly engagements include presentations on endurance art and cultural critique at institutions like Rochester Institute of Technology. Tasman’s interdisciplinary work often explores the intersection of technology, identity, and public discourse through photography, video, and digital media.
