معرفی
Marc Humbert is Professor of Respiratory Medicine at Université Paris-Sud and Head of the Department of Respiratory Medicine at Hôpital Bicêtre. He directs multiple research units, including Inserm Unit 999 (Pulmonary Hypertension: Pathophysiology and Novel Therapies) and the Département Hospitalo-Universitaire Thorax Innovation. His leadership extends to editorial roles, such as former Editor-in-Chief of the European Respiratory Journal.
His research focuses on pulmonary hypertension, asthma, and immunopathology, with emphasis on molecular mechanisms of vascular remodeling, endothelial dysfunction, and innovative therapies. Humbert investigates serotonin/BMPR-II pathway interactions, endothelial-smooth muscle crosstalk, and immune-mediated mechanisms in disease progression.
Publications span clinical guidelines, translational studies, and epidemiology, reflecting expertise in pulmonary vascular diseases. Recent works emphasize phenotype classification, targeted therapies (e.g., sotatercept), and global disease burden.
Honors include:
- Descartes-Huygens Award (2009)
- Fellow of the European Respiratory Society (2014)
- World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds in Clinical Medicine (2014)
- Doctor Honoris Causa (University of Medicine and Pharmacy Carol Davila, 2013)
He leads the French National Reference Centre for Pulmonary Hypertension and oversees clinical registries/biobanks to advance therapeutic innovation.
