Manoj Mate is a Professor of Law at the University at Buffalo School of Law, State University of New York, and an Affiliated Faculty Member at the Center for Information Integrity. His research focuses on Public Law, Constitutional Law, Election Law, and Comparative Constitutional Law. He holds a B.A. from UC Berkeley, a J.D. from Harvard Law School, and a Ph.D. in Political Science from UC Berkeley.
Professional highlights include roles as Chair of the AALS sections on Comparative Law and Law & South Asian Studies, appointment to the Illinois Racial Profiling Prevention Board, and Senior Policy Advisor to San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro. He previously served as Inaugural Director of the Racial Justice Initiative at DePaul University and Canada Research Chair in International Trade Law at the University of Windsor. Visiting appointments include Berkeley, UC Irvine, and Harvard Law School's East Asian Legal Studies program.
