Majid Fotuhi is an Adjunct Professor at George Washington University, specializing in neurology, memory, and Alzheimer’s disease prevention. His career includes roles as an instructor at Massachusetts General Hospital and an Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience (Johns Hopkins University, 1992) and an M.D. from Harvard Medical School (1997).
His research focuses on brain rehabilitation, neuroplasticity, and cognitive enhancement. He developed the 12-week “Brain Fitness Program,” integrating lifestyle changes with neurofeedback to improve memory and cognitive function in the elderly and patients with MCI. His work spans neurodegenerative diseases, obesity’s impact on brain structure, and the neurobiological effects of SARS-CoV-2.
Key contributions include studies on NSAID-antioxidant combinations for cognitive protection (Cache County Study) and the role of omega-3 fatty acids in dementia prevention. His recent work explores post-COVID neurological effects and concussion recovery protocols.
