Dr. John Hart Jr. is a Professor of Behavioral and Brain Sciences and Inaugural Holder of the Distinguished Chair in Neuroscience at The University of Texas at Dallas. He holds joint appointments at UT Southwestern Medical Center as a Professor of Neurology and Psychiatry. His research focuses on semantic memory mechanisms, brain disorders (e.g., PTSD, Alzheimer’s, TBI), and neurotechnology for diagnostic and therapeutic applications.
Education:

- Fellowship in Cognitive Neurology and Neuropsychology, Johns Hopkins
Research Interests: Pioneered the neural hybrid model of semantic memory, linking brain category storage to clinical applications. Active in developing diagnostic tools and treatments for neurodegenerative and traumatic brain conditions. Current work emphasizes neuroimaging innovations and therapeutic protocols for PTSD, Gulf War syndrome, and multiple sclerosis.
Awards & Grants:Recipient of multimillion-dollar Department of Defense grants for neurotechnology research. Former President of the Society for Behavioral and Cognitive Neurology and the Behavioral Neurology Section of the American Academy of Neurology.
