John Hart, Jr. is a Professor at the University of Texas at Dallas and University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, affiliated with the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences and the Departments of Neurology and Psychiatry. His work bridges neuroscience, neurology, and psychiatry through advanced imaging and electrophysiological studies.
Research Interests include the neural basis of semantic memory, clinical applications for traumatic brain injury (TBI), Alzheimer's disease, PTSD treatment, and brain stimulation therapies. His lab proposed the Neural Hybrid Model of Semantic Memory and explores gamma rhythms and thalamic modulation.
Grants include a $7.4 million DoD award for PTSD treatment trials combining rTMS and CPT, and a $2 million DoD grant for verbal retrieval deficit therapies using HD-tDCS. His editorial roles span journals like Neurocase and Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease.
