Dr. Madjid Tavana is a Professor and Distinguished Chair of Business Systems and Analytics at La Salle University's School of Business. He additionally holds an Honorary Professorship in Management Information Systems and Operations Research at the University of Paderborn in Germany and serves on the Scientific Committee of the Doctoral Program in Business and Economics at Sapienza University of Rome in Italy.
His educational background includes an MBA, PMIS, and PhD in Management Information Systems, plus a Post-Doctoral Diploma in Strategic Information Systems from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He has held Visiting Professorships in France, Italy, Switzerland, Korea, China, Ukraine, and Mexico, and was a Visiting Scholar at UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management.
Dr. Tavana's research spans Decision Sciences, Business Analytics, Information Sciences, and Supply Chain Analytics, with particular expertise in Multi-criteria Decision Making and Fuzzy Logic applications. His recent work focuses on cryptocurrency price prediction, industry 4.0 resource allocation, metaverse technologies, medical supply chain analytics, and advanced ranking methodologies.
His publications from 2024 demonstrate strong interdisciplinary work connecting artificial intelligence techniques with practical business applications across multiple domains including finance, manufacturing, healthcare, and virtual environments.

Dr. Tavana has published over 370 research papers and 22 edited books. He serves as Editor-in-Chief for multiple journals including Decision Analytics Journal (Elsevier), Healthcare Analytics (Elsevier), and Supply Chain Analytics (Elsevier). He is also a Distinguished Research Fellow at NASA facilities including Kennedy Space Center, Johnson Space Center, Naval Research Laboratory, and Air Force Research Laboratory. His teaching philosophy emphasizes interactive classroom experiences that blend theory and practice while challenging students to take active roles in their education.
