Dr. Connolly's research centers on the intersection of book arts, memory, and narrative, with particular emphasis on how these creative practices can give voice to unspoken experiences. Her work oscillates between photography, book arts, stitchography and wellbeing applications, frequently incorporating creative approaches to mental health interventions. She actively develops practice-based research through community workshops that connect artistic expression with psychological wellbeing, particularly through her Mindful Photography course developed in March 2024.
Her current research project gathers responses regarding book arts and wellbeing, with an ongoing call for participants through a dedicated Google Form. This work extends to community engagement across Cheshire and Northern Ireland, where she facilitates workshops connecting artistic practice with mental health support.
Professional activities include recent workshop facilitation on wellbeing and book arts (May 13-16, 2024) and development of the Mindful Photography course. She maintains an active exhibition record with showings across the UK, Ireland, and US, demonstrating the international reach of her artistic practice.
