Lyle Brewster is a Course Director (Paramedicine) at Charles Sturt University, specializing in paramedic education and clinical practice. With 30 years of experience, he has worked across ambulance services in Queensland, New Zealand, and Australia. He holds a Masters in Health Science, a Postgraduate Certificate in Emergency Management, and is pursuing a PhD.
His research focuses on paramedic safety during transportation, mental health stigma in paramedicine, and transition to clinical practice. He has published widely on topics including antiemetic management, simulation-based education, and community paramedicine's role in aging populations.
Lyle teaches CLS307 – Transition to Paramedic Practice and has contributed to paramedic education through roles in clinical training programs in New Zealand. He is a professional member of the Paramedicine Council of NSW and actively engages in curriculum development for paramedic training programs.
His work emphasizes bridging clinical theory and practice, particularly in high-risk scenarios and patient care for mental health and elderly populations.
