Lydwine Scordia is a Professor of Medieval History at the University of Rouen Normandy, affiliated with the GRHis laboratory. She specializes in medieval political structures, taxation theory, and Norman historical documentation. Her academic roles include teaching courses on medieval history, paleography, and source analysis at undergraduate and master’s levels.
Her research focuses on royal power dynamics in France (13th-15th centuries), governance practices, and the intersection of theology and political thought. Key projects include the ConDé 2 initiative analyzing Norman legal records and the TabelNorm project on Norman tabellionage archives. She also collaborates internationally on medieval taxation studies and exegesis.
Recent publications explore Louis XI’s governance, royal funerary monuments, and the political symbolism in medieval texts like Le Rosier des guerres. Awards include the Prix Marcel-Pollitzer (2015) and the Provins Medieval Prize (2010).
