Luke Maese, DO, is an Associate Professor on the Clinical Track at the University of Utah School of Medicine, specializing in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. He serves as director for the Pediatric Leukemia/Lymphoma and Cancer Genetics programs, as well as the Clinical Trial Research Enterprise and co-Director of the Bone Marrow Failure program at Primary Children’s Hospital (Salt Lake City). He is also a member of the Family Cancer Assessment Clinic and Schiffman Lab at Huntsman Cancer Institute.
His clinical focus includes malignant hematopoietic disorders, cancer predisposition syndromes, and translating genomic research to pediatric oncology practice. Research efforts center on clinical trial development for pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia and cancer predisposition syndromes, with leadership roles in the Experimental Therapeutics Program at HCI. Dr. Maese’s work frequently addresses Li-Fraumeni syndrome, genomic instability disorders, and therapeutic innovations in pediatric cancers.
Recent publications highlight his expertise in cancer screening guidelines, asparaginase therapy, and molecular profiling for pediatric solid tumors. He has contributed to clinical trial analyses and economic evaluations of treatment strategies in leukemia care.
