Luke Jorgensen is Acting Chairperson and Professor of Theatre at Boston College's Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Theatre. He holds a B.A. from Boston College, M.A. from Northwestern University, and Ph.D. from Tufts University.
His research explores theatre education, actor training methodologies, new play development, and the application of Augusto Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed. He integrates performance theory with community engagement practices.
As Artistic Director of Tufts University Children's Theatre, he has directed productions including Noises Off and Six Degrees of Separation. At Boston College, he advises student groups My Mother's Fleabag and Hello Shovelhead! and has directed over 10 mainstage productions including KCACTF Award-winning Metamorphoses and his original musical Codemonkey.
