Michael Lueger is a Lecturer in Theatre at Boston College, affiliated with the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences. He holds a B.A. in Theatre and English from College of the Holy Cross, and an M.A. & Ph.D. in Drama from Tufts University. He has taught 'Intro to Theatre' at BC since 2017 and concurrently teaches at Emerson College.
Lueger’s research focuses on American theatre, 19th-century celebrity scandals, and women playwrights on Broadway at the turn of the 20th century. His work spans academic publications and public-facing projects, including hosting/producing Theatre History Podcast and serving as Book Review Editor for Theatre Annual.
His notable publications explore topics like Artaud’s theories, O’Neill adaptations, Jesuit theatrical traditions, and media scandals. Professional activities include podcasting and editorial roles in theatre scholarship. He resides in Boston with his family.
