Lucy Hardcastle

Lucy Hardcastle is a Sessional Lecturer in BA (Hons) Motion Graphics at Ravensbourne University London and founder of Lucy Hardcastle Studio, a multidisciplinary design practice blending digital and physical mediums. Her work explores tactile experiences, visual illusions, and the intersection between material and virtual worlds. Holding an MA in Information Experience Design from the Royal College of Art (2017) and a BA in Textile Design from Chelsea College of Art, she bridges craftsmanship with emerging technologies. Notable projects include Public installation: The Mirage (2019) and collaborations with Chanel, V&A, and London Design Festival. Her studio’s team includes Creative Consultant Laura Vent, 3D Generalist Thomas Rawle, and Technical Director Martin Robinson. Recent press highlights include features in Victoria & Albert Museum, Icon Eye, and The Guardian.

Research interests emphasize sensory aesthetics, interactive installations, and speculative materialism. Projects like Air Monuments for Uniqlo’s AIRism campaign demonstrate her ability to translate material science into emotive forms. Her studio’s philosophy focuses on human-centric design, merging digital craftsmanship with inclusivity and accessibility frameworks.
