Rosa Beiroa

Rosa Beiroa is an award-winning filmmaker, artist, and animator based in London since 2010. She holds an MA in Animation from the University of the Arts London (2017) and a BA. Currently, she serves as a Sessional Tutor in the Design Department at Ravensbourne University London, teaching on the BA (Hons) Animation program. Additionally, she has been an Associate Lecturer at the London College of Communication’s MA Animation program since 2019. Her academic roles also include sessions at the National Film and Television School and the University of Seville.

Her research and creative work focus on animation principles, character design, and storytelling, emphasizing traditional animation techniques and dynamic movement. She specializes in drawing-based approaches, integrating emotional depth and narrative into her projects. Technical expertise includes tools like Toon Boom Harmony, TVPaint, and the Adobe Suite.

Rosa’s accolades include awards for her film In Our Skin, such as Best Animation, Best Experimental, Best European Short, Jury, and Audience Awards. She has contributed to notable projects like Quentin Blake's Box of Treasures as a Senior Animator and collaborates with institutions like Tate and Red Bull Racing. Her creative work spans commercials, TV series, and independent films, blending artistic vision with technical mastery.

While her primary focus is on creative practice and education, Rosa’s professional engagements include freelance character animation and collaborations with global studios. She actively shares her expertise through teaching modules like Animation Fundamentals and Character Mechanics.
