Lu Qin is an Assistant Professor at Penn State University, affiliated with the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, and Penn State Heart and Vascular Institute. Her research focuses on neurophysiological mechanisms in cardiovascular diseases, particularly peripheral arterial disease and muscle afferent signaling.
- Exercise Physiology PhD, Chinese University of Hong Kong (2017)
- Kinesiology MEd, Beijing Sport University (2014)
- Bachelor of Medicine, Central South University Xiangya School of Medicine (2011)
Lu Qin's research explores neurovascular regulation, with key contributions to understanding P2X3 receptor pathways, acid-sensing ion channels (ASIC), and exercise pressor reflex modulation in ischemia-reperfusion injury. Her work bridges molecular neuroscience with cardiovascular physiology.
Recent publications highlight sex differences in sympathetic regulation, genetic knockout models, and neuroprotective interventions. Trends show emphasis on receptor interactions (P2X3/ASIC), dorsal root ganglion neuron mechanisms, and translational approaches to peripheral artery disease.
- 2021: Bond & Bradley Postdoc Travel Award

Current projects include "Heat Treatment and Vitamin B6 on Exercise Pressor Reflex in Lower Limb Ischemia-Reperfusion: Role of P2X3" (2022-2025). Collaborations span neuroscience, physiology, and pharmacology domains with international partners.
