Louise Ross is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader in Wildlife and Conservation Management at Scotland's Rural College (SRUC). With over 15 years of research experience in plant ecology, her work focuses on plant community ecology, land management, restoration ecology, and ecosystem services. She has been actively involved in teaching innovation, including authentic assessment methods, and has been nominated for both teaching and research awards. Her research explores topics such as wildfire impacts on vegetation dynamics, peatland conservation, and the effects of climate change on moorland habitats.
Dr. Ross’s research spans multiple regions, with collaborations across the UK and Europe. She has contributed to over 12 peer-reviewed articles, including studies on wildfire severity in Scottish heathlands, vegetation recovery post-wildfire, and the application of MODIS data for peatland monitoring. Her work emphasizes the interplay between conservation efforts and ecosystem service delivery, advocating for sustainable land management practices.
