Louise Mallinder is a Professor of Law at Queen's University Belfast and Deputy Director of the Senator George J. Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice. Her work bridges legal scholarship with practical applications in post-conflict societies.
Her research focuses on the intersections of law and peace, particularly transitional justice, human rights, international law, and amnesty laws. She has authored influential works such as Amnesties, Human Rights and Political Transitions (Hart 2009) and co-authored Lawyers in Conflict and Transition (CUP 2022).
She is an active figure in human rights and transitional justice, serving on the Executive Board of the Committee on the Administration of Justice in Northern Ireland. Her accolades include being named a Fellow of both the Academy of Social Sciences and the Higher Education Academy.
