Professor Louise Mallinder is a leading academic in law and peace studies at Queen’s University Belfast, holding dual roles as Professor of Law and Deputy Director of the School of Law. She is affiliated with the Senator George J. Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice, where she leads the legacy theme. Her expertise spans transitional justice, amnesty laws, and conflict transformation, with a focus on Northern Ireland's legacy issues and global peace initiatives.
Education:

Research Interests:
Professor Mallinder’s work examines intersections of law and peace, particularly amnesty laws and their application in conflict and post-conflict societies. She created the Amnesties, Conflict and Peace Database and co-edits The Elgar Concise Encyclopedia on Law and Peace. Her research contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to justice and peacebuilding.
