Anna Bryson is Professor in the School of Law at Queen's University Belfast, Fellow at the Senator George J. Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice, and Director of Research (appointed 2023). Her interdisciplinary research integrates socio-legal studies, transitional justice, and oral history methodologies to address conflict legacy in Northern Ireland and globally.

- Legal frameworks for apologies and historical accountability
- Intersection of oral history with truth-telling mechanisms
Publications demonstrate consistent focus on conflict transformation through legal and historical lenses, with recent work examining human rights law, constitutional change, and policy frameworks for legacy issues.
Awards include the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for REF impact case study leadership, Senior Fellowship of Higher Education Academy, and British Academy Mid-Career Fellowship. She chairs the Committee on the Administration of Justice and advises parliamentary committees internationally.
