Lori B. Wolf serves as an Associate Professor in The School of Education within the Ruth S. Ammon College of Education and Health Sciences at Adelphi University. Her academic career bridges university teaching with extensive community engagement, particularly through partnerships with urban schools like P.S. 174Q where she served on the School Leadership Team from 2007-2009 and the P.A. Executive Board.
Dr. Wolf earned her Ph.D. from New York University in 2001, building on her MA from Teachers College, Columbia University (1988) and BA from SUNY Albany (1984). Her teaching portfolio includes key courses such as Approaches To Literacy In Childhood Education I & II and Literature For Young Adults.
Her research focuses on the intersection of literacy education and social justice, with particular attention to how children's literature can promote equity and multicultural understanding. Dr. Wolf investigates the experiences of fourth graders with ELA tests and examines the efficacy of reading aloud as pedagogical strategies.
