Dr. Loizos Pelecanos is a Lecturer in Civil Engineering at the University of Bath, with expertise in Computational Mechanics, Earthquake Engineering, and Soil-Structure Interaction. He holds a PhD from Imperial College London and has conducted post-doctoral research at the University of Cambridge. His work focuses on sustainable infrastructure, embodied carbon optimization, and structural health monitoring using fibre-optic sensing. He leads projects on minimizing carbon emissions in construction and enhancing the resilience of civil structures against dynamic loads.
