Dr. Le's research centers on Asian American political dynamics, with specialized focus on Vietnamese American partisanship across generational cohorts. She examines intersections of race, ethnicity, gender, and equal protection within public policy frameworks. Current projects include developing Ethnic Studies curricula addressing historic inequalities, analyzing Vietnamese American political socialization within families, and evaluating policy impacts on Asian American communities through interdisciplinary lenses.
Her 2013-2018 publications reveal consistent scholarly emphasis on Asian American political behavior, particularly Vietnamese American nonpartisanship and electoral patterns. Key thematic threads connect immigrant cohort analysis, generational political identity formation, and structural barriers to democratic participation. Additional work bridges criminal justice reform (civilian oversight mechanisms) and environmental politics, demonstrating methodological range across quantitative survey research and policy analysis.
Scientific Awards:
- Western Political Science Association award for Best Paper in Asian Pacific American Politics (2014 and 2015)
- National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow
- Coro Foundation Fellow in Public Affairs
- Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholar
Dr. Le has held leadership roles including Co-Chair of the APSA Caucus of Asian Pacific Americans (2017-2019) and Chair of the WPSA Committee for Status of Asian Pacific Americans (2016-2017). She serves on NACOLE's Communications Working Group advancing civilian oversight standards. No grant funding details appear in source materials.
