Việt Lê is an artist, writer, and independent curator affiliated with Vermont College of Fine Arts (VCFA) as a Visiting Professor in the MFA in Visual Art program. His work explores intersections of trauma, representation, sexuality, and popular culture, and has been exhibited internationally, including solo shows like lovebang! (2016) and vestige (2015). He has also taught Studio Art and Visual Culture courses at the University of California, Irvine.
- Education: PhD and MA in American Studies & Ethnicity from the University of Southern California (USC), MFA from UC Irvine, and BFA from California State University.
Research interests focus on cultural critique, diasporic experiences, and artistic responses to trauma, informed by Southeast Asian and queer perspectives. His publications appear in journals such as positions: asia critique, American Quarterly, and Art Journal, as well as anthologies like Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art. Lê is a core board member of the Diasporic Vietnamese Artists Network (DVAN), contributing to arts events and the diaCRITICS blog.
