Chinh Le

Chinh Le serves as Professor at the University of Virginia School of Law, joining the resident faculty in 2025 after years as professor of practice and distinguished fellow with the Karsh Center for Law and Democracy. His expertise centers on systemic impact litigation, civil rights advocacy, and public interest law, drawing from leadership roles at major legal institutions including the Legal Aid Society of D.C.

Le's academic foundation includes a B.A. and M.A. in Government from the University of Virginia (with high distinction) and a J.D. from UVA School of Law, where he served as notes editor of the Virginia Law Review, earned Order of the Coif distinction, and received the Margaret G. Hyde Award, Distinguished Student Award, and Mary Clairborne and Roy H. Ritter Prize.

His research investigates civil rights enforcement mechanisms, particularly the long-term societal impacts of court-ordered school desegregation and systemic barriers to justice access. Current scholarship examines how historical litigation shapes contemporary educational equity and institutional reform.

Le's 2024 book chapter analyzes the enduring consequences of desegregation policies, reflecting his focus on law's role in advancing social justice through strategic litigation and policy advocacy within education and civil rights frameworks.
