Liwei Jiao is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of East Asian Studies at Brown University, specializing in Chinese linguistics. He holds a PhD from Nankai University (2003) and has taught Chinese at institutions including Renmin University of China, the University of Durham, and the University of Pennsylvania for over two decades before joining Brown in 2018. His research focuses on Chinese lexicography, phonetics, and the interplay between language and culture.
