Sun Mi Lim

Sun Mi Lim serves as a Lecturer of Korean in the Department of Asian Languages and Cultures (ALC) at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, joining the department in 2017. She holds a Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature from Nankai University (Tianjin, China) and completed training in Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language at Sogang University (Seoul, Korea). Her academic focus bridges Contrastive Linguistics and the relationship between language and spirituality, reflected in her motto: “從心所欲 不踰矩 (종심소욕 불유구)” (Even if you follow what your mind wants to do, you don’t go out of the right path).

At Rutgers, Lim teaches Elementary Korean 2 (01:574:102), Intermediate Korean 1 (01:574:201), and Intermediate Korean 2 (01:574:202). Her publications from 2007 highlight comparative studies in linguistic formalities and structural classifications.
