Alexandre V. Morozov

Alexandre V. Morozov is a full-time Professor at the Department of Physics & Astronomy, Rutgers University. He serves as Director of the Center for Quantitative Biology and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in physics. His research spans biological physics, computational biology, molecular evolution, and non-equilibrium systems.

Research Interests

• Chromatin Physics: Studies nucleosome positioning, higher-order chromatin structure, and gene regulation mechanisms using DNA mechanics models and statistical mechanics.
• Molecular Evolution: Theoretical models of evolution on fitness landscapes and physical constraints on evolutionary trajectories.
• Protein-DNA Recognition: Thermodynamic modeling of transcription factor-DNA interactions using structural and genomic data.
• Non-Equilibrium Dynamics: Optimization on rugged landscapes with applications to protein folding and chemical kinetics.
• Olfaction: Combinatorial sensor arrays for chemical detection inspired by biological olfactory systems.
